Creating, Editing & Viewing a Quote from the Quotes tab in an Application

This article explains how to create, edit and view a Quote from the Quotes tab in an Application

There are four parts to this article


Creating a New Quote

  1. Navigate to an Application and select the Quotes tab.
  2. Any existing Quotes for the Application are displayed in the Quotes list.
  3. On the right, click Create Quote.


    The New Quote page displays.
  4. Verify the Home State or update the field as needed. This field determines the tax calculation.
  5. Verify the Line of Business. This field is pre-populated from the Application.
  6. In the Type of Business field, use the drop-down to select Binding or Brokerage.
  7. In the Marketing Company field, use the drop-down to select a Marketing Company.
  8. In the Carrier field, use the drop-down to select a Carrier.
  9. In the Programs field, select or create a program. The program includes defaults for endorsements, exclusions, terms, requirements, and fees.
    Note: If you select Brokerage as the Type of Business, you are not required to select a Program.
  10. Click Add & Continue.


Verifying or Editing the Quote Details

  1. Review or edit the information on each tab of the Quote:
    1. Risk Information: Add insured details, additional interests, and losses.
    2. Locations: Add the location(s) to be covered.
    3. Coverages: Add classifications, quote limits, deductibles, and additional coverages. This tab is dynamic based on the selected coverages.
    4. Forms: Select any forms that apply to the Quote if applicable.
    5. Quote Summary: Enter additional risk details, rates, taxes and fees, endorsements and exclusions, terms, and requirements.
    • Click Save & Exit to save the Quote, or Bind to bind the quote.


      BindHQ automatically generates the Quote and any other applicable documents (for example, tax forms) under the Application’s Documents tab. The documents that are generated are dynamic based on your environment and your customers’ needs.


    Changing an Agent, Broker, or Program on a Quote

    1. Use the right sidebar to edit the Producer, Agency, or Program when creating a Quote.

    2. Click Edit to the right of the selection you want to update.
    3. Make any needed change, then click Save.


    Viewing a Quote

    1. Navigate to an Application and select the Quotes tab.
    2. Under the Quote column, click the Select to view drop-down on the Quote you want to view.
    3. Select Quote.


      The Quote opens in a new tab.
