Using the Carrier Ranking Report

You can use the Carrier Ranking Report to quickly see how much business your agency is placing with the carriers with which you do business

This article explains how you can access and use the Carrier Ranking Report to better understand your book of business and identify year on year trends that may affect your profitability

You can use Carrier Ranking Report to answer the following questions:

• How much business am I placing with each Carrier [Marketing Company]?
• How does the amount of business I place with each Carrier [Marketing Company] compare to the prior year?
• What percentage of the business being placed with each Carrier [Marketing Company] is renewals rather than new business?
• Which producer is placing business with each Carrier [Marketing Company]?
• What premium amounts and revenue amounts are being placed by each producer with  each Carrier [Marketing Company]?
• What proportion of the business being placed by each producer with each Carrier [Marketing Company] is renewals rather than new business?

You can find this report by going to the “Reports” tab in the side navbar, then going to “Production”, and then selecting “Carrier [Marketing Company]  Ranking Report.”

This report compares production totals from the current year to the prior, which is broken down into Gross Premium and Net Revenue amounts, and New Business and Renewals percentages based on specific time frames selected by a user. 

• The default time period is from the beginning of the current year to today's date
• This report can be filtered by the “From” date, the “To” date, and by producer. 
• Bound premium is calculated based upon the [Effective Date]
• All of the columns displayed on screen are sortable
• By clicking the Carrier [Marketing Company] name, you can access the overview tab of that Carrier [Marketing Company]  in the CRM
• By clicking the ‘By Producer’ button on the far right column, you can access a Carrier [Marketing Company] specific page, which lists each of the individual producers who have bound premium with that Carrier [Marketing Company]. You can also see the breakdown of the premium amounts and revenue amounts together with the proportion is renewals rather than new business

The Carrier Ranking Report can be displayed on screen, downloaded as a PDF, or downloaded in a CSV format.

• Carrier - [Carrier or Marketing Company] 
• Premium - [Net Premium ($)] 
• Revenue - [Gross Revenue ($)] 
• Renewal % - [Renewal %] 
• New Business % - [New Business (%)]
• % Premium Growth - [YoY % Premium Growth}
• Premium - [Premium ($)] 
• Revenue - [Net Revenue ($)] 
• Renewal % - [Previous Year Renewal %} 
• New Business % - [New Business % as total policies]
