Using Tasks in BindHQ
Last updated: October 15, 2025
Introduction
This article explains how to create, assign, and manage tasks in BindHQ to keep your workflow organized. You’ll learn how tasks are added—manually or automatically—how to set follow-ups, and how to track completion.
Open Task List
There are two ways to view manually added tasks in BindHQ:
From the Dashboard
Navigate to the dashboard and scroll down to Tasks.
Click View All Tasks to see all open tasks.

From the User Options
In the top right corner of any page in BindHQ, identify the icon with the checklist.
Click Checklist icon to see all open tasks.

Filtering Tasks
You can filter tasks by Assigned To, Created By, Type, and Date Type, and sort them by Due Date or Type. Any tasks that match your filter criteria will be displayed.

To the right of an incomplete task, you can click Edit to update its details or mark it as complete. You can also mark a task as complete by selecting the checkbox to the left of the Type column.

View System-Generated Tasks
System-generated tasks are automatically created when a policy is issued and appear below the policy status. These tasks are configurable by BindHQ. By default, only the Issue Policy task is set to generate automatically.
To view these tasks, navigate to the policy. If there are any incomplete tasks, click the incomplete tasks link below the policy status. If there are none, an All tasks complete message will be displayed.

Click Edit to the right to update the task or mark it complete.

To update a task, change the Assignee, Due Date, or Notes, then click Update.

Add a Task
From the Quick Add Menu
When using BindHQ, you can quickly create a new task through the Quick Add menu.
At the top of the page, open the Quick Add drop-down and select Add Task. Fill in the required task details, then click Create Task to save it.

From the Task Menu
On a policy, click the Incomplete Tasks or All Tasks Complete link below the policy status. Select Add Task, fill in the task details, and then click Assign Task to save and assign it.
